Love spells: what they are, what they are not, and what to walk away from

A heart laid out in roses and petals on a white cloth

A love spell, in the tradition I come from, is work done to hold a bond that is being pulled apart from outside, or to soften a person who has gone hard and distant. What it is not is a way to make someone love you against their will. Anyone selling you that is selling you something that does not exist.

I am Don Jacinto Nahual. I come from the curandero tradition of Catemaco, Veracruz, four generations of it, and I have done this work in Southern California for over thirty years. Most of the people who call me about love have already paid someone else for a promise. Here is what I tell them.

The two kinds of work, and the difference matters

  • An amarre. Literally a binding. Work to hold a bond between two people that is being cut from outside: a third person, a family that wants you apart, envy with a name. It only works where a bond still exists.
  • An endulzamiento. A sweetening. Work to soften a person who has gone cold, hard or distant, so the two of you can talk again. It does not decide what they say when they do.

Which one, if either, comes out of the first session, when I read the situation. Sometimes the reading says the bond is gone. I say that out loud, and some people do not come back, and that is the right outcome for them.

What no honest practitioner will promise

That the person comes back. That it happens in three days. That it works on someone who has already chosen someone else. That it works without you doing anything. Each of those is a line I hear quoted to me from someone who charged for it.

Changes, when they come, take weeks. That is my experience over thirty years, and I would rather lose you now than have you angry at me in a month.

Three lines that mean you should leave

  • "Bring a photo and $500 and they will call you by Friday." A price before a reading and a date before anything is a script.
  • "Someone put a curse on your relationship and only I can lift it." Fear is the product being sold here.
  • "The first work did not take, we need a stronger one." This is how the tab climbs. A closed price for the first session, told up front, is the only protection you have.

When this is the wrong answer

If the two of you have fought for years over money, drink, or a child, a counselor will do more than a candle, and I say so. If there was violence, the answer is not to bring anyone back. And if the person has moved on and is happy, work meant to bend them tends to come back on whoever asked for it. I have spent years undoing exactly that for people who paid someone else to do it.

What a first session looks like

You tell me what happened. I read the situation, with the cards or the egg, and I tell you what I see: whether there is interference, whether the bond is still there, whether this is work I would take. Then you hear the price, and only then do you decide. A first session is $97 and runs about an hour.

If you want the service page, it is here: love work and reconciliation. If you want to understand the reading first, read what to expect from a reading.

Common questions

Do love spells work?
Where a bond still exists and something outside is pulling at it, the work I do has a place. Where the bond is gone, nothing works, and the people who tell you otherwise are the reason this trade has the reputation it has.

Can it be done from a distance?
Part of it. The first session I prefer in person.

Will the other person know?
Nobody in your life knows you came unless you tell them.

Where do I go?
Los Angeles, 1208 Venice Blvd, walk-in. Santa Ana, 830 S Main St Ste 109, by appointment. (213) 598-1928, and the first call is free.
